The weather is warm with the longer evenings. We can lazily watch the play of the kaleidoscopic birds as they flutter and fly from branch to branch. They look delirious, like they are in a buffet of flowers. It is also the auspicious month of Holi.
At Java Rain Resort, we have gotten together to curate a special Holi menu. This is also the time to acknowledge the ancient Ayurvedic system of adding cool food items in our menu.
So we decided to delve into the sepia pages of grandma’s recipe of “thandai”. We prepare it fresh for you, as you soak in the Thandai, beating the onset of the summer sun.
1 cup water, sugar as required, 2 tablespoon melon seeds, 1/2 tablespoon aniseed, 1/2 teaspoon rose water, 1/4 cup dry rose petals, 500 ml milk, 2 tablespoon almonds, 1 tablespoon poppy seeds, 1/2 tablespoon green cardamom, 1 teaspoon peppercorns, 100 gm fennel seeds.
We have also curated the fresh Mimosa for the pool side party.
So grab the Mimosa and soak into the infinity pool. Dip into it’s cool water as you view the city ahead.
2 c. orange juice, 1/2 c. tequila, 1/4 c. lime juice, Lime wedge for rimming glasses, Coarse salt for rimming glasses, 1 bottle champagne or prosecco, Orange and lime slices for serving.
In a pitcher, combine orange juice, tequila, and lime juice and stir.
Rim glass rims with lime and dip in salt. Pour in orange juice mixture and top off with champagne.
Add sliced oranges and limes to glasses and serve.
